This product is plug and go. It's pretty versatile. I use it to take LPCM audio and HDMI video from a PS3, and route the audio to a 7.1 surround processor; the video is sent either to an LCD screen or projector.I have two complaints:1. First, start-up time and switching video displays is a bit slow, perhaps as much as 20 seconds. It can be controlled by a Logitech Harmony 1100 remote, but the slow start-up means my TV says no signal even though the PS3 is booted up and ready.2. While setting it up, the grey plastic shutter on the TosLink socket seems to have come off. This means that the optical cable is now loose, which is really annoying, but doesn't seem to impact audio output if the connection is somehow secured.
