I bought the cable to replace a SCART connection between a DVD player and my new TV. This was for two reasons. The new TV is on a swivel base and the old scart cable kept falling out if you turned the TV, second the DVD could "upscale" the image via the HDMI connection and I wanted to see if that made the picture better or not.The cable is much better- it stays in and the image quality is excellent.
