Details: Sound at last - Macbook Pro and Syncmaster P2740
Syncmaster instructions were a bit vague about how to get sound from the monitor, other than saying you have to plug your own speakers in. Having failed and getting no better advice from PC world a bit of Internet trawling led me here. Whilst Apple provide a mini display output to VGA and DVI adapter at £20-ish each ( plus another £30 for a DVI cable, the monitor comes with VGA only) they do not make it clear that the cables do not support sound. Having checked the specs again to confirm that mini display port supports sound I found I needed HDMI and thus a display port - HDMI adapter. If you look very closely you can find this on the apple site and they point to a couple of third part adapters at a similar cost to their own. Pleased to say that the Cablesson does the job perfectly at a fraction of the cost. Its size and design fit perfectly with the Apple style and the build quality is excellent. Delighted to have found it.

I see no degredation quality at all, even projected on a 12 foot wall, fantastic cable, no need to pay more IMO.

Details: Great product, fast delivery.
Ordered this at 2pm, and arrived the following day. Brilliant service. Plugged it in and played on my TV. No sound at first but just changed the audio output setting on my MacBook and all worked perfect.Well recommended product
