The Cablesson Mini-DVI to VGA Adapter is designed for use with the iMac (Intel Core Duo), MacBook, and 12-inch PowerBook G4. Connect the adapter to the Mini-DVI port of the computer and the VGA end of the adapter to an external VGA monitor or projector. You can use this cable in both video mirroring and extended desktop modes.

The Cablesson 1080p rated Mini-DVI to VGA adapter is designed for the iMac (Intel Core Duo) and a Apple computer allowing you to connect to an external VGA monitor.

NOTE 1: The DVI output must be analog, not digital, for this to work as VGA is an analog signal.

NOTE 2: The new MacBook and MackBook PRO Uni-Body that started shipping late 2008, early 2009 have mini-DisplayPort connectors, not mini-DVI so this product will not work.

The Mini-DVI to VGA Adapter can also be used in combination with the Apple DVI to ADC adapter to support Apple flat panel Studio or Cinema Displays.

This adapter was ordered for my Imac which i purchased early 2009 and works great at a super price.I would point out that Imacs purchased later in 2009 might have the mini display port and is not mini dvi you can check your port mini dvi as a box with two vertical linesdisplayed by the socket.
